LO2: Planning my UTC photo-shoot.

Where?
The photo-shoot will take place in the Multi-Purpose Space of UTC Sheffield.
When?
The photo-shoot will take place on the 4th of March 2016 between the times of 13:25 and 15:00pm
Risks?
The Multi-Purpose Space is a huge space with no major risks that could cause harm.
Theme?
My theme for my shoot is going to be technology, this is because people use it every day and it affects their life.
Meaning behind it?
The meaning I'm trying to show is that technology is everywhere and that our whole world consists of it.
Equipment?
To take the pictures I will be using a Canon DSLR 650D as this has many professional options to choose from that I can use in the shoot, such as aperture and ISO control.
Lighting?
I will either use high key or low key lighting in my photo-shoot as planning to use natural lighting can mean that it will be unpredictable, so with high or low lighting I can control the brightness and tone.
Camera Mode?
I will most likely use Mode P (Programmed Auto) as this would be easier for me because I need more practice with cameras before I can use the manual mode, Mode P lets the camera automatically control the Aperture and Shutter speed whilst Manual lets the photographer handle it.
Aperture?
Aperture is how much light is let in, basically meaning how bright I want my photo, and seen as I will be having two types of lighting, this may vary; for example, if the lighting is dim I might use a higher aperture.
Shutter Speed?
The shutter speed is how quick or slow the shutter closes when taking a picture, a slower shutter speed means more blur as light is continually let in whilst a quicker shutter speed may be used for sport to catch photos in the moment. I will be using a quick shutter speed, as I do not want any blur in my photos.
ISO?
If there is a lot of light when taking the photo I may need a lower ISO but if their isn't I will be using a higher ISO.
Depth of Field?
I will be using a depth of field, as I can combine this with macro to make a suitable looking photo.
To Flash or Not to Flash?
I will not be taking photos with the flash because the location will have lighting, and I will only use the flash if there's a lighting problem or the item appears too dark.
Macro, Exposure Value Mode, Continuous or Single Shooting?
I will be using the Macro mode with single shooting.
File Type (RAW or JPEG)?
The file type I will use is a RAW as this is an uncompressed file that can be converted to a JPEG that is compressed and a RAW file also preserve the sharpness, contrast and other information that is on the camera.
Equipment in the Shoot?
I will be using the DSLR 650D Camera and a seat to place the items on that I will take the photos of.
Contingencies?
I will have to relocate to a different place if the location I am using is busy. I will bring a spare battery if my battery runs out and a spare SD card just in case I run out of space on the first one.
Protecting My Photos.
I will have my photos backed-up on a spare SD Card, USB Stick and on my laptop, both in the files and an online drive (i.e. Owncloud, OneDrive etc.)
Obtaining Permission from Models.
My photos are of objects and not models so I do not need to obtain permission.
Ensuring My Photos are in focus (Such as stabilisation).
I will make sure my photos are in focus by taking lots of shots and even using the burst mode so that I rapidly takes photos, then I can review them and see which ones are in focus.

Framing, Landscape or Portrait?
I will mainly take shots in landscape as I am not taking pictures of models, which are usually took with portrait. Landscape will also allow me to fit more into the photo.
Description of photos I intend to take.
I will be taking photos of the inner workings of some pieces of technology; such as a phone and a games console controller.
Viewpoint?
I will do some from a bird’s eye view, some from the side and a few close ups.
How will I use the rule of thirds?
I will use the rule of thirds by making sure things like the microchips and different pieces attached to the hardware inside the pieces of technology.
Will I be shooting in Colour, Sepia or Monochrome?
I will use colour as the things inside the piece of technology will be different colours, like the wires for example.
Will I be using silhouettes and shadows?
I will not be shooting any photos that use silhouettes but I will use shadow on some shots.
Will I be using Pattern and Repetition?
I will be use repetition in some shots as it has a few components in the pieces of technology that there is multiple of and I could use that to create repetition.
Will I be using Leading lines?
I will not be using leading lines as the pieces of technology I am using are either too small, or full of so many components that I cannot find an opportunity to take a photo that uses leading lines.
The Overall Narrative?
The overall narrative of these pictures is to show how complicated technology is and how it’s taking over the world.
