LO2: UTC Photo Shoot Practise Evaluation

The photos;

What I did in my shoot was dismantle two pieces of technology that teenagers use day to day and took the photo's of the circuits contained within them. I planned to do single shots and I followed that with my photos been took one by one. I did try to use different perspectives like macro and close ups on the controller. The only equipment I used was the Canon DSLR 650D camera to take the pictures and a chair to place the items on so I could take a picture of them. The props were the only things I took photos of and these were the game controller and mobile phone. In my opinion I need more help with the control of the camera as most settings I'm not familiar with, I managed to at least take three shots with a depth of field. I used macro so I could get a close up on the circuits inside the item, but I would like to have been able to control the aperture and shutter speed. When taking the photos I didn't use shadows, reflection or a flash, I only took the photos without a flash. Even though I did use depth of field, I feel like I could of done it better if I was actually focusing on taking photos with a depth of field. I didn't use any camera based filters mainly because I didn't know how to use it, but I would of used monochrome on some shots if I did. Another thing I would improve upon is actually using photographic elements. If I was to edit them I would add the monochrome filter or make a point of interest in the photo by making the point coloured whilst the rest is in monochrome as this would also help with my photo having a photographic element included in it. So, I think that the positives about this shoot was the composition of the items in the photo, which could be improved upon, and also the features like the depth of field or macro shots were quite a positive outcome of the shoot, which could also be approved upon with me knowing more about how to use the camera. So in conclusion I need to improve on knowing the setting of the camera and giving a better composition in the photos.
